Fun: The primary focus of our class is for the children (and parents) to have fun. We want to create a positive environment that has children wanting to return. We want them to return, not just to us, but to sport & physical activity for the rest of their lives. If it is Fun, then the likelihood of that happening is much higher.
Developing Fundamental Movement Skills: Ensuring that our classes and specially chosen activities lead to putting the foundation blocks in place for children to be confident & competent movers. As children improve their physical literacy skills, they are much more likely to embrace sport throughout their childhood and into adulthood. These foundation blocks will benefit normal day to day life as well as any sport they participate in as they get older.
Quality Parent Child Time: For the short period of time that our classes take up each week, it gives parent and child a fantastic opportunity to play together, have fun and enjoy each other's company. Parents celebrating each milestone with their child as they learn a new skill or excel at a challenge.
Introduction to basic Gaelic Games Skills: In our classes we give a very basic introduction to the basic skills of Hurling/Camogie & Football. What hand to hold the hurley with? Why a child is struggling to kick a ball straight? Our coaches are there toon hand to give tips and corrections to help children become technically proficient at the basics.
Fun: Did we mention that? No child is going to become an all star player by attending Little Puckers. Our focus is ensuring children have a wonderful first experience of "Gaelic Games" and when they get old enough to join their local GAA club, the Fun they had at Little Puckers will ensure they will play and stay with their local club for many years to come.
